1. Overview

VentureShock Pty Ltd is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who use our platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

By using the platform, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you are a seller, additional information about how we handle your business data is included below.

2. What we collect

We do not collect sensitive information as defined by the Privacy Act (health, biometric, political, or religious information) unless you voluntarily provide it.

3. How we use your information

  • Operating and improving the platform, including Kai's guidance capabilities
  • Matching buyer briefs with relevant seller packages
  • Verifying seller identity and ABN
  • Processing credit purchases and managing billing
  • Sending transactional notifications (new proposals, enquiry responses, credit movements)
  • Detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and policy violations
  • Complying with legal obligations

We do not use your data for advertising to third parties. We do not build advertising profiles. Platform analytics are used solely for product improvement.

4. Who we share data with

4.1 Sellers

When you submit a project brief, sellers who are matched to your enquiry receive your brief context (business type, industry, goal, constraints, and problem description). Your name, email address, and phone number are not shared with sellers unless you choose to disclose them directly in a message.

4.2 Buyers

Buyers can see seller profiles, packages, and case studies as published. Buyers do not have access to seller financial information, credit balances, or internal performance metrics.

4.3 Service providers

We use third-party services to operate the platform, including payment processing (Stripe), cloud infrastructure (AWS), analytics (PostHog), and email delivery. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual data processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.

4.4 Legal requirements

We may disclose personal information where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person.

5. Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes (typically up to 7 years for financial records).

Brief data associated with closed projects is anonymised after 12 months. Message content is retained for 36 months and then deleted.

6. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Object to processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Withdraw consent for optional data uses (such as product feedback surveys)

7. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.

No system is completely secure. If you become aware of a potential security issue, please report it to service@savvykai.com.
